Our Team

Karyn West
Chairperson

Karyn and her family have lived in Heathridge since 1997 and thoroughly enjoy what the area has to offer in terms of locality, accessibility, and amenities.  She enjoys getting out and about in the community to help create a solid, caring environment in which families and individuals can thrive and grow.

Karyn instigated the Heathridge Residents’ Association as she recognised the positive changes that are now occurring in the area and felt that it was time for there to be representative voice for this community.  She finds that her background in Health Promotion has been an invaluable asset in this regards and is excited to work with the HRA team to achieve its goals.

Karyn is also active in her local church and has previously been involved with organising the Family Fun Days which have been enjoyed by Heathridge residents in the past.

Julie Andrews
Treasurer

Julie is a self-employed bookkeeper and business administrator with offices in Joondalup.  She has been a Heathridge resident since February 2005.  She loves living in Heathridge as it is close to all amenities and conveniences which suites her lifestyle.

Julie comments, “The reason why I joined the Heathridge Residents’ Association was because I like living in Heathridge and would like to continue to live here.  I would like to improve my home by way of upgrades and renovations, so I am keen to know that my investment will be worthwhile and protected in the future.

I would like to see us take more pride in our homes and community areas, so it feels nicer to be in and come home to after a long day at the office.”

Wes Buzza
Secretary

Wes has lived in Heathridge since 2002. He was a member of the inaugural Heathridge Residents Association committee and a past member of the Oceanside Gardens Residents Association.

Wes and his family enjoy the lifestyle that is provided by Heathridge and are keen to preserve it for future residents. He is a strong supporter of community members working together to create their prosperity.

Peter Lancaster
Committee Member - Crime Prevention and Community Safety

Peter is an Electrical Engineer who has taken a lead role in crime prevention and community safety within Heathridge.  He has been involved in crime prevention and community safety initiatives in Heathridge since 2006, primarily through Neighbourhood Watch, but also as a Graffiti Removal Volunteer with the City of Joondalup.

Peter would like to continue to work towards increasing the level of crime prevention awareness in Heathridge and reducing the number of instances of community crime (burglary, stealing, motor vehicle theft, vandalism and graffiti).

Peter feels that his experience as a committee member has been positive, but wants more people to get actively involved.

Leanne Druie
Committee Member

Spiers Centre Representative

Bob O’Sullivan
Committee Member - Safety and Security

Bob has lived in Heathridge for many years and is a retired police officer with over 40 years’ experience in working in the public liaison sector.  He is able to offer the Association his gainful insights into security issues and resolutions.

Emily Howell
Committee Member

Emily Howell moved to Heathridge with her husband in 2012. They purchased an ex-rental property built in 1978 with a plan to spend about a year renovating it. Three years later and it's about 75% finished. But having a one year old tends to get in the way of these things.

Emily also works as a Policy Officer for the State Government. She is looking forward to working on a project to upgrade and develop several of Heathridge's parks and reserves.
